The Institute of Public Finance
The Institute of Public Finance (IPF) is an independent, non-political, and non-religious think tank based in Nairobi, which aspires to further the ideas of open Public Finance Management systems through research, training, and capacity strengthening. IPF is governed by a five-member non-executive board of directors responsible for directing and overseeing the operations of the Institute.
The Institute has a hands-on Chief Executive Officer (CEO) responsible for overall leadership of the strategic vision and day-to-day operations.
Core Competence of the Institute of Public Finance (IPF)
IPF is very competent in the field of public finance both at the National and County levels. At the National level, the institute’s competence is in the analysis of National government budgets, revenue-raising measures (tax policies, internal and external borrowing), and the role of public finance management in addressing inequalities and stimulating economic development. At the county government level, the institute prides itself in generating high-quality budget analysis reports and building the capacity of county governments, civil society organizations, and citizens.
